Our practice provides the following services: ​

Disease management

The practice provides a full range of services for patients who suffer from chronic diseases like asthma, heart disease, diabetes, COPD and hypertension. Health checks screening and advice is given on various aspects like diet, smoking, drinking and exercise. If you do not wish to avail this facility please sign the opt out form available at reception.

Immunisation clinic

There is a clinic held every Tuesday afternoon between 2:30pm and 4:30pm which involves a full programme of childhood immunisations and development checks. This is run by the practice nurse.

Antenatal clinic

This is run by the community midwives and is not based at the surgery.

Family planning clinic

Comprehensive confidential advice for all types of contraception is given. Dr Rayaz is available for consultations on all forms of contraception including long acting contraception services in practice such as coils and implants.

Cancer screening

Cervical screening (smears) are offered as and when required – women 24-50 years of age every three years, women over 50 every five years. Please examine your breasts regularly following the guidance here. Please do not hesitate to book an appointment if you have any concerns. The sooner it is investigated the better.

Men are encouraged to discuss any changes and have tests when offered. The cancer that affects men most is prostate cancer. Visit NHS UK: Prostate cancer – Symptoms for more information.

Travel advice and vaccinations

You will need an appointment for travel vaccinations. It is advisable to discuss your plans with our receptionist at least 4-6 weeks before you are due to travel, so that you can be appropriately vaccinated in time.

This is not a part of normal GP service and there will be a charge for your vaccinations. We do not offer advice on yellow fever or malaria. Please attend a specialist travel clinic if you plan to visit a country requiring preventative treatment.

Other services

Medical examinations for insurance, HGV, PSV, Taxi etc, are arranged by special appointment. There will be a charge for all these services.

Social prescribing

We hold weekly clinics with our social prescriber. Our team can refer you to our social prescriber who will be able to support you with a wide range of issues and link you to other appropriate services depending on your needs.

First contact physiotherapy

We hold weekly clinics with our Musculoskeletal physiotherapy practitioner. If appropriate, our team will book you in to see the practitioner for support with a number of musculoskeletal issues such as:

  • Arthritis
  • Ligament, muscle, tendon and bone issues
  • Back pain
  • Radiculopathy
  • Support after orthopaedic surgery
